On April 9th A-WOL Dance Collective opened the doors of its new performance space in Eliot for its original spring production of “Closed Doors.” The Eliot News team was able to get a sneak peek on Thursday and we were impressed! What is “Closed Doors”?…
How do you act in public? Do you act the same when the curtains are drawn at home? What are you afraid to reveal? What are you keeping secret?
In this new, original aerial dance production, A-WOL invites you to go where you’re not always allowed: behind closed doors. Through dance and aerial expression, A-WOL will expose audiences to a unique portrayal of those things that happen when we think we are safe behind our walls. From obsessive rituals to embarrassing feelings to surreal behaviors, A-WOL’s collective Pandora’s Box is about to be opened for all to see….
Peek into a woman’s obsession with love, a female’s gossip gathering, the love-hate relationship between roommates, and one’s personal grappling with OCD.
As always, audiences can expect inventive apparatuses, awe-inspiring choreography, and a trip inside the inner psyche that may leave you thinking more about what is hidden behind your closed doors….
“Closed Doors” will run April 9-12.
A-WOL’s Warehouse Theater is located at 513 NE Schuyler St.
