On Sunday, October 10 at 7:30pm, Prism Moves will host a pop-up comedy showcase. The line up features headliner Tory Ward, recently voted one of Portland’s funniest people by the Willamette Week, along with local comics Dylan Carlino, Julia Corral, and Marietje Hauprich. Host and organizer Danelle Porter put together the showcase to feature women, BIPOC, and LGBTIQIA+ comics in the Portland area, creating a far more diverse show than average.
The partnership with Prism Fit is important to Porter; the gym has rapidly built a reputation as an inclusive space. Ashley Kondziela, the founder of Prism Fit, created the gym at 18 North Shaver Street to provide a more welcoming space for health in Northeast Portland after coaching at several other area-gyms. Prism Fit offers free classes to BIPOC Portlanders, in order to improve access to fitness and health.
Tickets are $10 and are available through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/everything-in-between-tickets-171513510527. BIPOC attendees get in free. Attendees must show proof of vaccination at the door and masks are required for the show.
