After several years as a smaller event, Friends of the Children’s Friend Raiser is returning to its pre-pandemic format.
Billed as “Portland’s biggest one-night fundraising event” this year’s Friend Raiser will, in a return to form, feature a silent auction, live auction, special appeal, food, drinks, and inspirational stories drawn from Friends of the Children’s uniquely important work.
In support of its annual event, Friends of the Children has been issued a 24-hour permit to close NE Stanton Street adjacent to their parking lot, between Williams and Rodney. The block-long closure will begin the morning of Thursday, May 11, and Stanton will re-open the morning of May 12.
Event attendees will park in the hospital lot two blocks south of Dawson Park, at 65 NE Graham Street. Eliot residents can expect the event to commence at 6pm on May 11, and end at 10pm.
