Theatre in Dawson Park

The Unscriptables, an unscripted theatre company, will host 2 performances in Dawson park on Sundays in August.  Shows are on the 7th, 14th and 21st starting at 1pm and 3pm.  The first show is geared more toward kids with a “G” rating the the second show toward a slightly older audience with a “PG” rating.  All shows are free!

Bag of Books Sale

The Multnomah County Library Title Wave Used Bookstore on Knott street is having a Bag of Books Sale. They are selling books and audiotapes.

They’ll give you a bag for $10 and you can fill it up with books and audiotapes. There is a limit of 10 bags per customer. Books have to fit in the bag completely. The sale is Saturday, Jan 26 from 10am – 4pm or until they run out of books. It’s a great deal and helps to support the Multnomah County Library. Title Wave is at 216 NE Knott, phone 503-988-5021.

Blazer Draft Lottery Party in Eliot

Residents across Oregon celebrated the unbelievable good luck of the Portland Trail Blazers in the recent NBA Draft Lottery.  But a Lottery party in a new Eliot establishment was probably among the most enthusiastic.

Venue Restaurant & Sports Bar at 2808 NE MLK Blvd. was the site of the Blazer’s official Draft Lottery party, and the excitement was captured on You Tube.

The Draft party will be held at the Rose Garden on June 28th. The Blazers are widely expected to select one of two potential superstars, Greg Oden or Kevin Durant.

New Lloyd Farmers Market

The business community in Portland’s Lloyd District is organizing a new farmers market that will start July 3, 2007 in the Oregon Square courtyard (NE Holladay St. Between 7th and 9th) next to the Max Line.

The market will run every Tuesday from 10-2 (previously 2-6) through the end of September or October. Come and shop for locally grown fruits, veggies and more.
