At the Eliot Neighborhood Fall General Membership meeting Jim Hlava, Vice President Garlington Center, announced that Cascadia Behavioral Health Care at 3034 NE MLK is starting planning for on-site housing.
In the summer of 2006 Cascadia, Eliot Neighborhood Association, Line of Site Neighbors, Portland Police, and others developed and signed a Good Neighbor Agreement (GNA) with Cascadia. That agreement covered day operations in the existing building. It was understood a new agreement would be made for future housing.
Through the GNA process Cascadia heard from neighbors that communication and community involvement were very important in maintaining good relations. Living up to their promise Jim is inviting Eliot neighbors to get involved in the planning process of the proposed housing development.
