Neighborhood Collaborative Graffiti Cleanup

On Saturday September 25th the Eliot Neighborhood Association and the City of Portland Office of Neighborhood Involvement Graffiti Abatement Program teamed up to make a difference in Eliot.  Residents from the neighborhood along with volunteers from Volunteers of America and Portland State University met at the corner of Graham and MLK to cleanup Graffiti.

Graffiti Cleanup 2010 Volunteers

Marcia Dennis from the Graffiti Abatement Program instructed volunteers on how to clean graffiti in the public right of way.  City contracted crews took care of paint outs and pressure washing, while Sign Maintenance washed or replaced signs.  Even city commissioner Amanda Fritz joined the 25 volunteers. At the end of the day everyone involved made Eliot Neighborhood a better place. Thanks for your help!
