The Dawson Park concert series kicked off with a bang featuring Obo Addy & Okropong. The Ghanaian drums and dance were a hit with people of all ages. The following week the Hillstomp show was postponed due to weather. The concert series continued on July 20 with the Dirty Syncopators followed by Lisa Mann and Her Really Good Band on the 27th.
Due to the postponement July 13th, Dawson park will have a rare late August concert on Wednesday the 31st at 6pm. Hillstomp will fill Dawson park with their bucket and slide rock. Here is a bit about the band from their bio:
“Portland Oregon junkbox blues duo HILLSTOMP is infamous for digging through the dumps and forgotten backwoods of American music, recycling traditional elements into a refreshing and distinctive brand of do-it-yourself hill country blues stomp. North Mississippi trance blues, a bit of Appalachia, and a dash of punkabilly come clanging and tumbling from assorted buckets, cans and BBQ lids, all drenched in rambunctious slide guitar. Somehow it works!”
