Lee Perlman Memorial

By Christine Charneski

The community is invited to attend a remembrance/memorial event for Lee Perlman on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 4pm, Lorenzen Conference Center at Legacy Emanuel Hospital. This was the site of many a meeting in Lee’s neighborhood (Eliot).

This will be a very simple remembrance event — others are encouraged to have more celebrations of Lee all across this town he was such a part of. Please visit Lee Perlman Public Memorial on Facebook for updates or to post remembrances/reflections.

Legacy Emanuel is on N Vancouver Ave. between Russell St. and the east end of the Fremont Bridge. The Lorenzen Center is off Graham St. between the hospital and the Medical Office Building. There is parking in the lot on N. Graham St. / Gantenbein Ave just across from the MOB.

  1. 5pm WAKE after the memorial: The Lorenzen Center has limited seating (125) and doesn’t allow food, so after the 4pm event, please come to a Wake/Post – Memorial event at the Billy Webb Elks Lodge, 6 N. Tillamook, 4 blks south of Emanuel Hospital. No-host bar, food (bring something if you wish) and socializing,- storytelling, music. Please come and remember together our friend Lee.

  2. So sorry to learn of Lee’s death. He regularly attended Portland Planning Commission meetings, engaged in considerate discussions with staff and commissioners and reported to neighborhoods on projects that affected them. He will be missed.

Joan Hamilton, former Planning Commission Coordinator
