A series of posts about winter activities to keep you busy until spring featuring exciting business and organizations located in and around our amazing neighborhood.
There is a wonderful little shop that is really quite a magical place on NE 7th Ave. At the border of our neighborhood, Bella Flora and owner Elaine Falbo let us escape the day’s stress and enter in to a wonderland of fairy furniture, vintage clothes and glassware as well as antique books, stuffed animals and dolls and an assortment of wreathes and baskets, dried rose bud headbands and crepe paper flowers handmade by Falbo.
Bella Flora has been at the current location at the corner of 7th Avenue and Knott Street for the last four years but previously was up on Fremont for 17 years. Falbo went to horticulture school and is a self-taught basket weaver. She was the instructor at the basket weaving tent at Willowbrook summer camp for many years. Her baskets were even featured in the New York Times Gift Guide for 2015.
She will be offering 3-4 hour classes this winter on needle felting, fairy beds and fairy furniture and perhaps a couple others. To contact her about the class schedule you can stop by the store, call her or check out her Facebook page Bella Flora Studio.

Yes, Bella Flora is a wonderful place and the owner, Elaine, is fabulous. Thanks, for mentioning this little gem, Sue, and keep up the good work on the Winter Activity series you’ve started. I love it!
