Meals on Wheels People Martin Luther King, Jr. Center will host the 10th annual Summer in September Jambalaya Festival & BBQ Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 6 p.m. at Dawson Park. Live musical entertainment will feature Randy Starr & The Players as well as BlowFrogz.

If you’re age 60 or older and looking for a great place for lunch with a fun group of people, plus interesting activities, why not stop by the Meals on Wheels People/Loaves and Fishes Center at 5325 Northeast MLK Blvd? They serve delicious, nutritious lunches with a choice of entrée every weekday from noon until 1:00pm. The suggested donation is $3, but no one is ever turned away.
Ride Connection Volunteers
Ride Connection is recruiting volunteer drivers to serve the Eliot Neighborhood and beyond. The volunteer driver’s role is to provide necessary transportation services to older adults and people with disabilities in the tri-county area who are unable to drive and access public transportation for various needs, often for life-sustaining purposes.
