In an exciting and unique opportunity for students, parents, educators and community members, Portland Mayor Tom Potter is moving his office and City Hall to Jefferson High School. The week long visit, starting Monday January 14th at 7:45 am, will include a City Council meeting on Wednesday and the State of the City address on Friday.
Here are some highlights of the event:
Monday – Meet and greet with Tom and school staff, then later in the day “10 minutes with Tom” one on one meetings with Jefferson students.
Tuesday – Mayor Potter plans to visit classrooms at Eliot’s Harriet Tubman Young Women’s Leadership Academy – one of four Jefferson Academies.
Wednesday – Portland City Council meetings will be held on Jefferson High campus.
Thursday – From 6 – 8 pm Jefferson High will host a Parent and Community Open House. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with Mayor Tom Potter, Superintendent Carol Smith and Principal Cynthia Harris. The event includes “Food!, Entertainment!, Raffle!”.
Friday – Mayor Potter will present the State of the City address in the Jefferson High Auditorium. Buses will bring attendees from downtown to the school.
