The latest restaurant to call Eliot home is Toro Bravo , a Spanish-inspired tapas eatery that just opened at 120 N.E. Russell St. next to the Wonder Ballroom.
The Portland Tribune gave it a great review last week.
I’ve only tried the gin martini, and it was excellent. But I’m looking forward to going back for the food.
Chef John Gorham was a partner and co-owner of Simpatica Dining Hall and Viande Meats & Sausage in Northwest Portland. According to the Tribune review, a tapas dinner that Gorham prepared at Simpatica was rated the best meal in the world for 2006 by USA Today.
Toro Bravo is open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
