  3. Letter of Support-Air Pollution Advocate Call to Action ready this time….The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality “invites” YOU, the public, to submit comments on two proposed permits, an air quality permit RENEWAL and (the expansion) a solid waste permit, for Oil Re-Refining Company (ORRCO) in North Portland. We need your help! Attend a public hearing on April 24 at 6 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel on Hayden Island to comment in person, or submit written comments to DEQ by 5 p.m. May 1, 2018.

Announcements

Volunteers needed: Waste Management and a local, nonprofit organization are putting together a recycling campaign to encourage people in the local community to recycle old shoes. The event will launch from King School Park on the morning of April 21 where there will be food, snacks, shirts and specific instructions for volunteers who will be placing the shoe recycling bags at the doorsteps of houses – no further interaction is needed. We expect all volunteers to arrive around 9:00 am and be done by 11:00am.
