The Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church is pleased to announce its Capital Campaign Improvement Project to renovate its lower level spaces of their Historic Church site listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Through this endeavor, the church is committed to fostering community livability and greater communal participation among its neighbors, by connecting cultural engagements, along with providing adequate spaces for educational programs for youth, and social service programs offered by the church.

According to their website, Fetch Doggie Daycare provides a fun, safe, and loving environment where dogs can socialize, frolic, and bask in the affection of their experienced staff.  They are equipped with approximately 3,200 sq. ft. of indoor play-space, plenty of toys, play-structures and comfy furniture.

Poochie Mama

Jody Guth, aka Poochie Mama, started her dog walking and pet sitting business 17 years ago.  She loves her job and has excellent references from clients who she still works with now after their second and even third dogs!

Poochie Mama take dogs to different local parks Monday through Friday between noon and 4pm.  She picks up each dog from their home and then all head out to play for roughly an hour and a half.  She can also take out dogs individually.

Irving Park

A sure sign of summer is the increased numbers of people and their dogs lazing about in local parks. Irving Park has a wonderful off-leash area that is sure to delight playful or rambunctious dogs. The off-leash area, bordering the edge of the park on Northeast 7th  Avenue, sits at the crest of the hill and offers several benches and picnic tables where humans can rest as their canine companions get all of their exercise for the day.

Opening Pounce Play and Stay, a local cat hotel, has been a labor of love for Lisa Hernandez, owner, and Jennifer Krause, manager. They both have backgrounds caring and advocating for animals. Lisa used to work as an Animal Control Officer and Cruelty Investigator for the Louisiana SPCA and Jennifer worked for nearly a decade for Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles.

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center is the first hospital in Oregon to acquire an advanced robotic imaging and navigation system for more precise brain tumor removal and spinal surgeries.

The Synaptive BrightMatter technology integrates pre-operative imaging, surgical planning and robotic visualization to give neurosurgeons the ability to see relevant details in the brain not visible to the human eye, which may allow for much safer surgical intervention.
